And so we reach day two of our Halloween advent calendar, and this one is a doozy. Best watched with the lights out and the sound up:
Day 2 of 10:
The Descent:

“Hey, there’s something down here…”
The Descent is a film drenched in darkness. Oftentimes the audience can only see what is within inches of the character, or what is illuminated by a crack of light, or what is in the focus of the thin beam of a head lamp.
This creates a claustrophobic experience, replicating the character’s woes. When group of friends meet to explore a system of caves, they become trapped in the darkness. To make things worse, they aren’t the only living things down there, and the the inhabitants of the cave are naturally not the most inviting of hosts.
A fun frolic for all the family (or maybe not)! See yesterday’s horror pick here.
Whoa! Remind me to skip that one! Your review captures the imagination better than the photo. That’s great writing!
