Molly’s Game Bitesize Review

“Deal with her.”

***

An assured and stylish directorial debut from acclaimed writer Aaron Sorkin, whose script is brimming with the class, wit and pacey dialogue that is typical of his work. A larger than life true story of determination, triumph over the patriarchy and run-ins with the law told through the eyes of Molly Bloom, played to perfection by Jessica Chastain (with a terrific supporting cast led by Idris Elba). A tighter runtime might have afforded Molly’s Game a zip in line with the pace of its dialogue, but more time spent with Chastain kicking ass and taking names hardly seems like something to complain about.
