Hello 2016, hello new Flicks and Pieces!
Out with the old, in with the new, as they say! To usher in the new year, Flicks and Pieces has undergone a makeover, bringing in a fresh coat of paint and a few nifty new features.
First and foremost, those who have visited Flicks and Pieces previously using a larger monitor may have noticed the fixed aspect ratio – what this means is that Flicks and Pieces of old only filled a set width on your monitor, regardless of how big it is, leaving a big old unused black space on the side of your screen. Well not anymore! Flicks and Pieces is getting dynamic, capable of adjusting to your screen size to make use of the real estate it has available to it – and that includes tablets and smart phones….it’s a very clever web page indeed!
Posts have also got new layouts, with reviews, news and other wordy posts getting a split screen view, with big featured images combining with the written content, whilst posts which focus on images or videos (posters and trailers) will do just that, putting the image content front and centre. Take a look here and here for examples.

To make things nice and easy to navigate the top menu has been expanded, allowing you to find content related to film, television or gaming, to explore the Flicks and Pieces social pages, or to head on directly over to some of the most handy film websites around. Down below you’ll find the most recent and most popular posts on Flicks and Pieces, along with even more social media links and the all important search bar for all your browsing needs.

Last, but not least, you can now leave feedback quickly and easily on each individual post using the “rate this” function at the bottom of each page. Feel free to let me know how I’m getting on, just click the star rating you’d like to give the post and voilà, the deed is done!

Let me know what you think of the shiny new Flicks and Pieces in the comments section, I hope you enjoy having a poke around!
Lookin good!
